Before Driving – Safety Checklist
Before starting your journey, it is recommended to carry out a quick safety check to ensure a safe and comfortable drive.
Vehicle Check
- Adjust your seat so you can comfortably reach the pedals and steering wheel.
- Adjust all mirrors, including the rear-view and side mirrors.
- Fasten your seat belt and ensure all passengers are wearing theirs.
- Check that all doors are properly closed.
- Verify that you have sufficient fuel or battery charge for your trip.
- Ensure the windows and windscreen are clean and provide clear visibility.
- Check the dashboard for any warning lights before driving.
- If the Engine Warning Light appears on the dashboard, please contact GoDrive Tanzania Rent a Car immediately before continuing your journey.
- Check the engine oil level every morning before starting your trip.
- Check the engine temperature indicator and coolant level every morning before driving.
Around the Vehicle
- Walk around the vehicle and look for obstacles, children, pets, or objects nearby.
- Check the tyres for proper condition and any visible damage.
- Ensure all lights are functioning correctly, especially when driving in low-light conditions.
Before Moving Off
- Start the engine and check that all instruments are operating normally.
- Select the correct gear (or Drive/Reverse for automatic vehicles).
- Release the parking brake when you are ready to move.
- Check all mirrors.
- Check your blind spots.
- Use your indicators (turn signals) when necessary.
- Move off only when it is safe to do so.
Important Safety Rules
- No alcohol is permitted while driving.
- Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
